Turvey Golf and Country Club
Turvey was originally built in 1565 by Sir Christopher Barnewell Kt. In the 17th Century Turvey was the seat of the Viscounts Barnewell of Kingsland. A late 17th Century House was built on the original tower and, in 1987, was then demolished.
Turvey is now an 18-hole golf course set in 150 acres of undulating parkland. Turvey Hotel and Golf Club was created in 1995, in the shadow of the historic Turvey House. The tree lined course, with its magnificent oaks and beeches provide a true test for all levels of golfer. Visitors and societies are most welcome and accommodation is available in our 12-bedroom hotel. In August 2003 Turvey Hotel and Golf Club was bought out by the members of the club. Since then extensive improvements have been undertaken, and the plan is to realise our potential to become one of the finest parkland courses in Ireland.
